At this stage in his career, performer/producer Steve Lewis
has a lot of irons in the fire. As a composer and songwriter his work strides the thin line between idiom and innovation. As a singer and instrumentalist he is an incredible musical force and a sight to be seen. Using traditional song forms and genres to communicate the musical truth, he bursts out of the box with a creative and unique sound.

Whether producing records for notable groups (King Wilkie, Jaymay, Heath Green, Rev. John Delore) or playing his ass off on the guitar, Steve is a power to behold. Steve is forging a prominent niche in the rock world at the moment, having just made a splash in the folk/Americana scene as a producer/performer for King Wilkie. His background also includes a prodigious output in the funk and afrobeat world with such groups as Downright and The CFG. Funk and R&B pioneer Ona Watson has described Steve as “the funkiest white boy I know.”

Steve is currently leading the bands Tongs and The Power Supreme, and playing shows in the New York area.
